Trauma, exhaustion, and emotional resilience in the face of a full-scale invasion. This was the topic of the meeting of the First Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Lina Kushch, and Gavin Reese, senior advisor for training and innovation at the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma (Columbia University, New York).

“We see a huge demand among colleagues for working with trauma – their own and that of the heroes of their materials. It is important to have resources not only for high-quality coverage but also to preserve yourself in the profession!” said Lina Kushch.

She told the international expert about the current needs of Ukrainian journalists who regularly cover tragic news.

Recently, the NUJU, in partnership with the Dart Center, held a series of webinars for Ukrainian media professionals dedicated to working with trauma, emotional safety, and support in newsrooms. Ahead are new joint projects and even more useful support for our colleagues.
