NUJU First Secretary, Lina Kushch, and journalist from Donetsk Region, Valentyn Khoroshun, visit prestigious university in Dnipro

The First Secretary of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Lina Kushch, and a journalist from the Donetsk Region, Valentyn Khoroshun, have visited the University of Customs and Finance (UCF) in Dnipro.

The guests talked with student journalists of the first and third years. Lina Volodymyrivna [Kushch] told the participants in the meeting about the NUJU‘s project titled Executed Free Speech, within the framework of which the collection and publication of stories of journalists from cities and regions of Ukraine that were or are currently under Russian occupation.

They also discussed the Union‘s cooperation with foreign partners in supporting Crimean citizen journalists who are currently persecuted by the occupiers, Ukrainian publications resuming their work in the liberated territories, and displaced journalists.

Lina Kushch and Valentyn Khoroshun also answered the students’ questions. In particular, Valentyn Khoroshun emphasized that he does not know of any professional community other than journalists who would take good care of colleagues who got into trouble due to Russian aggression and would provide assistance.

Lina Kushch had an exciting conversation with the university management. The UCF Rector, Dmytro Bocharov, and the First Vice-Rector/Chairman of the Academic Council, Viktor Chentsov, thanked the NUJU for fruitful cooperation, promoting the creative activity of students, their professional training, and supporting new educational initiatives of the UCF.
