Mass media report on death of Yurii Hlodan, husband of journalist Valeriya Hlodan, killed earlier by russian missile

There was information about the probable death at the front of Yurii Hlodan, a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU and the husband of Odesa media journalist Valeriya Hlodan killed earlier by a russian missile along with her little daughter and mother.

“The purpose of military service? We, Ukrainians, have one goal… And I do even more so. Don’t focus too much on me; write about Valeriya…” Yurii said shortly before he was killed in an interview for the press service of the NUJU.

On April 23, 2022, the Odesa apartment where the Hlodan family lived was destroyed by a russian missile. As a result of the explosion, Valeriya, who worked in the media sphere, her 3-month-old daughter Kira and her mother Liudmyla were killed.

Within a few months, Yurii, who previously worked in the field of public catering, joined the army. Passed a difficult selection and served in the Azov regiment in the Third Assault Brigade. According to his work colleague in Odesa, Oleksandr Yakovenko, Yurii went missing on September 12. On November 5, it became known about the discovery of the body and its identification by the body cross. The investigation is ongoing.
