The editor-in-chief and journalists of the Kramatorsk.Post online outlet, Dmytro Lukiyanenko, Oleksii Ladyka, Maksym Khodushko, and the director of the public relations department of the Donetsk regional branch of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vira Iliyina, have joined the Ivano-Frankivsk branch of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU). All of them are resettled media workers from Kramatorsk.

Journalists from Kolomyia, in particular, freelance correspondents of the Vilnyi Holos newspaper, Olha Rudanets, who is also an executive secretary of the Kolomyia city-district society Prosvita, and Andrii Moskaliuk, a researcher of the Kolomyia city history museum, also became new members of the Union.

Membership tickets were handed over as part of a tour organized by the Ivano-Frankivsk Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) to the Easter Egg Painting Museum in Kolomyia. This is the only Easter Egg Museum in the world and a great destination in the city.

“Of course, it’s a shame that we met under such circumstances, but it’s nice that our colleagues from the east of the country decided to join our community right here, in Prykarpattia,” noted Viktoriya Plakhta, the coordinator of the JSC and executive secretary of the regional Union’s branch.

“We are very grateful for being accepted into this community of journalists and for how we were accepted. We are glad we are here with you,” said Maksym Khodushko.

Vira Iliyina noted that the Center helped her adapt to a new city.

“The Journalists’ Solidarity Center gave me a sense of family and involvement in important work… I am always thrilled to come to this environment,” said Vira.

During the event, Journalists also learned how to paint Easter eggs.

“I can’t describe my admiration for the process in words,” says Vira Iliyina. “It would be interesting to create Easter eggs with a pen at home, as we did in the museum. Thank you for the positive emotions and the opportunity to learn our traditions.”
