Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the NUJU welcomes colleagues from various areas of the region

During the first meeting this year, the secretariat of the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) discussed the results of the online plenum of the NUJU held the day earlier.

The participants in the meeting focused in detail on the priority work of the NUJU determined by the plenum in the conditions of Russian aggression, which has been going on for almost two years, and determined the place and role of the regional journalistic organization in this process.

“The enemy’s goal is not only to defeat Ukrainians on the battlefield, but also to deprive them of access to true information. Together with all Ukrainian media workers, Zaporizhzhia journalists, despite the risks and dangers, resist this threat, fulfill their professional duty with dignity, and work in the interests of society; our ranks are strengthened and growing,” noted the head of Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the NUJU / Honored Journalist of Ukraine, Nataliya Kuzmenko.

So, at the meeting of the secretariat, the editors of local newspapers Tetiana Velyka from the Holos Huliaipillia newspaper, Kateryna Zavarzina from the Nashe Zhyttia newspaper, and Oleksandra Kot from the Dniprovski Vohni newspaper.

Journalist certificates were also presented to Liubov Starodvorska, the editor-in-chief of Horozhanin.Inform newspaper, Tetiana Ivanets and Krystyna Pyrohova, professors of the Faculty of Journalism of the Zaporizhzhia National University, who were accepted into the ranks of the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the NUJU at the previous meeting of the secretariat.

The Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the NUJU implemented with the support of the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO. The initiative is designated to help media representatives working in Ukraine during the war.
