Human rights activist and citizen journalist Iryna Danylovych called on all concerned people this year to raise the issue of the fate of political prisoners who ended up in russian prisons because of the war more often, writes the Ukrainian human rights Telegram channel Tribunal. Crimean Episode with reference to Iryna’s relatives.

She also believes it is necessary to “untie” the Clause on the release of civilians from other Clauses of the peace plan.

“The world has already shown what it can do to return Ukrainian children. But this is not the time to stop there. It is time to show what it can do to return Ukrainian women and elderly people who are being taken to russian prisons,” said Iryna Danylovych.

She emphasized that for civilized countries, in which humanism and human rights are a priority, the issue of releasing Ukrainians from russian prisons should be in the status of a “precondition” before the start of any negotiations.

Iryna Danylovych also conveyed words of gratitude to all people and organizations who support her and seek her speedy release from russian captivity.

“I live with a constant headache. I have a buzzing, whistling, and ringing in my ears. All this does not give me any opportunity to concentrate and respond to the few letters that are sent to me. But I really appreciate every warm word of yours and the feeling of a friendly shoulder from dozens of strangers from different countries.”

Iryna Danylovych is a Crimean nurse, trade union and public activist, citizen journalist of the Crimean Process. Kidnapped in Koktebel on April 29, 2022, held in a basement, she was subjected to torture and intimidation. Accused of manufacturing and storing an improvised explosive device. She was sentenced to seven years in prison, and the appeals “court” mockingly reduced her sentence by one month. In prison, her health deteriorated significantly; she lost her hearing and suffered a stroke. Due to the lack of medical care, she went on a hunger strike.
