The Ivano-Frankivsk Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) has delivered Easter gifts to displaced media workers in the region the JSC supports, as well as to colleagues in Kharkiv and Kherson who temporarily lived in Ivano-Frankivsk after the start of the full-scale war and later returned to their hometowns.
“For almost two years, we have been cooperating with the Italian volunteer association, Anteas Alessandria, from the city of Alessandria, headed by Luciano Cartolano. We are grateful to them for their versatile assistance, in particular to Ukrainian journalists. Our Italian friends did not spare media workers their attention on the eve of Easter. They delivered Easter cakes to the families of journalists who temporarily live in our region due to the full-scale war. Colomba is an Italian traditional Easter sweet bread, something like our Easter cake. Such an initiative of our Italian friends is another expression of care and gratitude to those who, every day, in difficult conditions of war, maintain the information front,” noted Viktoriya Plakhta, the coordinator of the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC.
Thanks to the Humanitarian New Post, we managed to promptly and free of charge deliver Easter gifts to journalists in front-line and border regions.
The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.
