The history of the siege of Mariupol became known to the whole world thanks to the journalists who remained in the city, documenting the war crimes committed by the russians. Yevhen Malolietka was among them. The result of their work, in particular, was the film called 20 Days in Mariupol, which received an Oscar, according to the Ukraїner publishing house.

In his book, The Siege of Mariupol, Yevhen Malolietka reflects on the responsibility of a documentarian, the importance of each frame, and the challenges a photographer faces in his work. The author talks about people and for people, about strength and weakness, about birth and death.

This book combines the observations of a professional and the experiences of a person who found himself in the epicenter of the war. Yevhen highlights the horror that took place on the streets, in basements, and in hospitals; talks about the ethics of war documentaries and the construction of a frame.

You can pre-order the book now by following the LINK.
