An officer of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Serhii Fisun, was killed while performing his assigned task on the morning of February 5, 2026. This was reported by his combat comrade Oleksandr Rudyk.

Serhii Fisun was born into a military family in the city of Kolomyia on January 20, 1979. Since childhood, Serhii dreamed of being a historian. He graduated from the Faculty of History of the Karazin Kharkiv National University. In civilian life, Serhii worked as a correspondent on television in Kharkiv and was a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).

He bravely defended Ukraine from the occupiers and died on the battlefield, like a courageous warrior and Cossack, on the morning of February 5, 2026, from an enemy lancet on the Sloviyansk-Kharkiv highway.
