On June 28, while defending Ukraine, a serviceman, Dnipro TV channel cameraman Oleksandr Vernihorov, was killed on the Kharkiv Axis. He was 38 years old, the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) reports.

In July 2022, Oleksandr voluntarily joined the ranks of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Since then, he has been fighting on the front line.

Before mobilization, he worked for many years as a cameraman for Channel 9 in Dnipro. His last place of work was the Vidkrytyi TV channel.

Colleagues remember Oleksandr as responsible, courageous and dedicated to his work. Journalist Oleksandr Koptev noted that he remembers him as “constantly focused and straightforward at work” – a true professional who could always be relied on.

We express our sincere condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Oleksandr Vernihorov.

Bright memory and eternal respect to the Defender of Ukraine.
