NUJU’s Ivano-Frankivsk JSC determines activity priority fields

An online meeting chaired by the President of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Sergiy Tomilenko, held at the Ivano-Frankivsk Journalists’ Solidarity Centers (JSC), was dedicated to the transformation of the fields of activity of the JSC. The meeting was attended by experts of the Union and the team of the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC, whose area of responsibility, in addition to Ivano-Frankivsk, includes Chernihiv, Rivne, Volyn, and Kherson Regions.

In particular, the coordinator of the JSC in Ivano-Frankivsk, Viktoriya Plakhta, the Center‘s assistant, Bohdana Zasidko, experts from the central office of the NUJU, and members of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional journalist center, Andrii Rusyniak, Mykhailo Mazur, Liliana Khomyshyn, Vitalii Chornenkyi, who are actively involved in the work of the Center.

During the meeting, the priority areas of work of the JSC for the next two months were outlined.

In particular:

• a series of classes and consultations for displaced journalists and Carpathian media workers with the involvement of lawyers, psychologists, and doctors;
• security trainings, which are very important because, as the President of the NUJU, Sergiy Tomilenko, emphasized, journalists, in their professional activities in war conditions, put their own lives at risk – especially those who work in the front-line zone or perform editorial tasks in combat areas;
• volunteering: Center employees, together with volunteer media workers, will provide humanitarian assistance to colleagues and their families from other regions of Ukraine, in particular, those located in the front-line zone.

Also, the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC, together with volunteer journalists, decided to assist one of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) divisions by purchasing a Chupacabra drone for it.

“Each of us is bringing Victory closer on our front, including our Journalist Solidarity Center and everyone who cooperates with us. To support our colleagues and other citizens, we are starting the social project “Working together for the sake of Victory.” I invite everyone who wants to gather around our Center and our initiatives,” emphasized the coordinator of the Ivano-Frankivsk JSC, Viktoriya Plakhta.
