On October 17, a Journalists’ Solidarity Center of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) held a meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy and the Administration of the Commander-in-Chief regarding training for press officers and rules for the dissemination of sensitive information by journalists.

Participants:

  • First Secretary of the NUJU Lina Kushch;
  • expert on journalists’ safety at the NUJU’s Journalists’ Solidarity Centers, Tetiana Uralova;
  • executive director of the Academy of the Ukrainian Press, Andrii Kovalenko;
  • representatives of the Strategic Committee of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Culture.

The participants discussed the issue of improving interaction between journalists and press officers to cover the situation in the war zone.

The NUJU presented the results of a survey conducted among journalists on the experience of interacting with representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) while working in a combat zone and presented proposals for training for press officers to improve their skills.

“We agreed to hold events for journalists and press officers. This should help improve interaction,” said Lina Kushch.
