Sergiy Tomilenko meets with Zakarpattia leadership and region’s journalists

The need to implement support programs for regional media and strengthen cooperation between the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) and the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration was discussed today at a meeting between the NUJU President, Sergiy Tomilenko and the deputy head of the Zakarpattia Regional Military Administration, Vasyl Ivancho, and the director of the strategic communications department, Roman Moldavchuk.

Currently, the NUJU is a kind of hotline for helping journalists in times of war, so Sergiy Tomilenko drew attention to options for strengthening the economic stability of the media, in particular, through the initiation of international aid and cooperation programs. He also offered to join forces and provide humanitarian aid to evacuated journalists across Ukraine through the network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers of the NUJU.

During a meeting with Zakarpattia journalists at a briefing in the Regional Military Administration’s press center, Sergiy Tomilenko called on his colleagues to show solidarity and strengthen cooperation with the media resuming their activities in the de-occupied and front-line territories.

“Today, I also spoke about the realities and future of Ukrainian media at the 4K Media studio (a creative shelter for displaced journalists, which is being developed in Uzhhorod by Vitalii Meshcheriakov, the head of the regional branch of the NUJU), in the editorial office of the Zakarpattia Announcements media holding (Mykhailo Nos),” notes Sergiy Tomilenko. “I was pleased to communicate with student journalists and journalism teachers of Uzhhorod National University.
