Working in Kherson during the flooding became a new challenge for Ukrainian journalists. After all, they faced two dangers at the same time: shelling and water.

Journalist Yuliya Surkova, a mentor of a series of webinars hosted by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) titled Steps To Sustainable Development, provided this information to the NUJU.

“During the shelling, we could use the bulletproof, but when you get into a boat or enter the water, you must take heavy protection off. Four volunteers drowned in Kherson: due to heavy bulletproof vests, they could not swim out of the water,” the journalist said.
