The Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) continues to operate as a coworking space supporting media workers even after serious damage to the building caused by a drone attack. As a reminder, on the night of November 15, a blast wave broke out windows here, damaging frames and part of the office property. Despite this, the team of the journalistic center, thanks to the operational support of the NUJU, installed new windows, put things in order, and restored workplaces so that the space would continue to remain accessible to journalists.

The other day, the renovated coworking space was visited by Nadezhda Mishyna, a journalist from the Kherson online publication Vhoru, who had previously used the Center’s facilities. The media worker needed a place to record video interviews. Given the long power outages, this is not easy these days, so in the difficult realities of war, this workspace came in handy.

As earlier reported, the coworking services of the Dnipro JSC of the NUJU are available free of charge to journalists from local and national media, as well as foreign colleagues. In addition to technical capabilities, the JSC provides organizational, legal, consulting and psychological support, as well as rental of protective equipment for work in dangerous conditions.

Let’s stick together, recover, and continue working for our community. Journalists are important!

The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO, and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.

Contact the Dnipro JSC at 050 919 8479 (Nataliya Nazarova, the coordinator of the Dnipro JSC).
