On September 8, DNA examination confirmation of the death of Yaroslav Levytskyi, a Chernivtsi resident and former television operator, was received. Since the beginning of November 2024, Yaroslav has been considered missing.

His colleagues from the Chernivtsi ACC TV and radio company were informed about Yaroslav‘s death by the Hero’s relatives.

The media person worked in the regional editorial office of Channel 5 and ACC TV and radio company in Chernivtsi, participated in the creation of short films by Dmytro Sukholytskyi-Sobchuk (known for the film Pamfir).

Yaroslav Levytskyi joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, had experience serving as a signalman. In the fall of 2024, he performed tasks in the Pokrovsk Axis.

“In the regional editorial office of Channel 5 in Chernivtsi, Yaroslav Levytskyi, began his journey as a cameraman. Here he learned the basics of this work… Cheerful, sociable, sociable, always friendly – he found a common language with everyone. Yaroslav managed to maintain warm, friendly relations with his colleagues even after his release,” the message says.

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) expresses its sincere condolences to the relatives and colleagues of Yaroslav Levytskyi. Eternal memory to the Hero…
