As a result of a russian strike on the Sviatoshynskyi District of the capital, the apartment of Hromadske journalist Nataliya Mazina was damaged. She and her husband were injured.

Nataliya told the publication that she and her husband ran into the common corridor all night during the drone attack.

“Then, when it calmed down a bit, when there were only a few drones left, we went to bed. We woke up to a loud explosion. It was around 4:40 a.m. Our window opposite the front door flew out,” says Nataliya.

The room was covered in glass. When the couple got out of bed, they were injured by glass lying on the floor.

“We smelled smoke, looked out into the street, and a car was burning; there was a huge fire. We didn’t realize that it was a house near us, where the entrance was destroyed, because, to see, we had to go outside,” said Nataliya Mazina.

Her entrance is about 20 meters from the high-rise building, where the entire entrance was destroyed due to the impact. Nataliya says that after the explosion, “we heard screams, everyone ran out into the street.”

“I started to put my laptop together. Barefoot, but I packed my work laptop. I put on one of my husband’s shoes; the other was some kind of rubber. And in the nightgown that I slept in, I ran out into the street.”

Nataliya and her husband suffered leg injuries. In addition to the broken windows in the apartment, their car was also damaged.

Russia launched a massive strike on Kyiv on the night of July 31, killing eight people, including a 6-year-old boy, and injuring 124 people, including at least 10 children. More than 100 civilian infrastructure sites were damaged, including residential buildings, schools, kindergartens, medical facilities, and universities, with particularly severe damage in the Sviatoshynskyi District.
