Journalist Nataliya Verlata was left homeless after direct hits by russian shells on June 7. At least two strikes destroyed her colleague’s private house. This was reported by Yevheniya Virlych, editor-in-chief of the Kherson online media Kavun.city.

According to her, the family lost everything – from documents to things that had been kept for generations.

“You know what’s even scarier: seeing all this burning and not being able to do anything because the russians continue to bully the city and the emergency services simply can’t get in,” notes Yevheniya Virlych.

The Kherson resource MOST also details that Nataliya‘s father, an elderly man, was injured as a result of the strike.

“The roof was destroyed, the upper floor burned down, the floors collapsed, the walls and internal structures were destroyed. Inside the house, everything was burned to the ground – the remains of furniture, household items, and electrical wiring,” the report says.

With Nataliya Verlata’s permission, Yevheniya Virlych is distributing a card and envelope to assist in restoring her colleague’s home. The goal of the collection is 500 thousand hryvnias. This is another case when russian aggression leaves Ukrainian journalists homeless, but media workers continue to work in extreme conditions. Card for assistance: 5168752136500033 Privat24 envelope: https://www.privat24.ua/send/h27ch.

As earlier reported, on June 7, the apartment of journalist Daryna Sukhonis of the Nashe Misto media holding was damaged as a result of a suicide drone hitting a few meters from a high-rise building in Dnipro.
