On April 25, the russians again massively attacked the Dnipropetrovsk Region with drones. In Pavlohrad, a high-rise building was hit, and a fire broke out. It is preliminarily known that three people, including a minor girl, were killed. The number of injured is currently 15. Local journalists — correspondents of the Pavlohrad Now information portal Anton Nechayev and Pavlohrad TV and Radio Company, Yurii Shevchenko — are also working at the scene of the tragedy. Protective equipment for the media workers was provided by the Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).

“For the second day in a row, the enemy is hitting the city with strike drones,” says Yurii Shevchenko. “At about six in the morning, one of the Shahed drones hit a residential building. The husband and daughter were killed, and the wife is in serious condition. Fleeing from the russians in 1922, this family moved to Pavlohrad… The terrible consequences of russian aggression should be seen all over the world!”

As earlier reported, the Dnipro JSC, like the entire Network of NUJU‘s JSCs, provides journalists with branded bulletproof vests, helmets, and tactical first-aid kits for free rental. A mandatory condition is the availability of Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) accreditation.

The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.

Call the Dnipro JSC at 050 919 8479 (Nataliya Nazarova, the coordinator of the Dnipro JSC). The Center’s address is 8 Starokozatska Street.
