The Zaporizhzhia Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) often receives guests from various volunteer organizations to get to know each other and possible future cooperation. This time, a contextual meeting was held with representatives of the Coordination Humanitarian Center (CHC) in the Zaporizhzhia Region. Volunteers familiarized the media with the areas of activity of the CHC to coordinate actions with the media to create materials and stories.

The speaker was CHC Regional Director Viktoriya Davydova. She spoke about the main activities of the CHC.

One of them is the humanitarian field: work with IDPs in communities, hubs, and shelters; restoration of dormitories for displaced persons; the opening of rooms, i.e., their equipment; and holding events for children, master classes, and training sessions.

Another field is security: the evacuation hotline – the work of volunteers in the front-line areas and informing the population. Support of the volunteer sector – car repairs and fuel provision.

The CHC in the Zaporizhzhia Region creates contacts, cooperates with many volunteer organizations, and coordinates their work in the front-line areas. It also attracts international partners to Zaporizhzhia.

Volunteers answered numerous questions from journalists and expressed hope for further cooperation.

Call the Zaporizhzhia JSC at 096 277 5352 (Nataliya Kuzmenko and Valentyna Manzhura, the Zaporizhzhia JSC coordinators). The Center’s address is 152 Sobornyi Avenue.
