Russia fired missiles at the third Hotel in Kharkiv at night! In October, it was Reikartz Hotel; this New Year – Kharkiv Palace Hotel; and at night – Park Hotel. These hotels were constantly used for accommodation by local and international journalists. As a result of each shelling, journalists were either wounded or injured.

Last night, Journalists of the Turkish news agency Anadolu, were injured. In particular, reporter Davyd Kachkachishvili received cuts on his hands. Violetta-Anastasia Pedorych, a Ukrainian fixer for the French TV channel France 2, received cuts on her face, head, and hands. Again, journalists’ cars burned down due to Russian shelling.

Earlier, Russia destroyed the Reikartz Hotel in Zaporizhzhia and the Druzhba Hotel in Pokrovsk. It fired at the RIA Pizzeria in Kramatorsk, which was popular among journalists and international experts.

The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) condemns another missile attack by the Russians on yet another hotel where journalists were staying.

The destruction of hotels in Zaporizhzhia, Pokrovsk, and three hotels in Kharkiv is a deliberate tactic of intimidation of the media people in order to limit coverage of the war in the international media. The NUJU documents Russia’s war crimes against journalists and informs its partners – the International and European Federations of Journalists. We demand an end to attacking civilian infrastructure. We demand punishment of the Russians for war crimes against journalists and freedom of speech!
