Over 100 humanitarian kits with hygiene products were sent to the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) from the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation to support fellow media professionals from Sumy, Zaporizhzhia, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Rivne, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy Regions who found themselves in difficult living circumstances due to the war. The cargo was delivered to journalists free of charge by the Humanitarian Nova Poshta.
The Poltava branch of the NUJU was one of the first to receive and distribute such assistance last week among displaced media professionals living in Kremenchuk.
“We received kits for our colleagues who were forced to move from their homes, which are located in the zone of hostilities, and now live and work in Kremenchuk. We also helped our colleagues who are no longer working but continue to be active members of the Creative Union of Journalists of the NUJU in Kremenchuk region,” said the head of the Creative Union, Volodymyr Shevchenko.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, the NUJU, with the support of its partners, has been providing various assistance, in particular humanitarian, to media workers who continue to work in this difficult period for our country.
“It is very important to receive assistance from the Union. In difficult times, to feel that you are not alone and that there are people who are ready to support is very important. This gives you strength to go through life’s challenges,” the displaced journalists shared while receiving assistance.
“Journalist solidarity is pleasantly surprising. The fact that they remember us, maintain constant contact with us, help, gives you strength to continue living and working,” noted a displaced journalist from the Luhansk Region.
It should be noted that the media workers’ receipt of humanitarian aid was made possible thanks to the signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the NUJU and the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation.
