On the eve of Journalist’s Day, the President of Ukraine awarded the President of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Sergiy Tomilenko, with the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree.

Decree 482/2026 titled On Honoring Ukraine with State Awards on the Occasion of Journalist’s Day was signed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy on June 5. The awards were awarded for a significant personal contribution to the development of domestic journalism and the information sphere, high professional skills and dedication shown during the coverage of the events of the full-scale invasion of the russian federation, as well as for many years of conscientious work.

This year, eighteen representatives of the media – Ukrainian and foreign journalists, correspondents, cameramen and photographers working on the front lines of the information front – were awarded the Order of Merit of the 3rd degree.

Part of the applications for honoring colleagues on the occasion of the professional holiday were prepared by the NUJU. The Union consistently advocates for the recognition of the work of journalists who risk their lives every day in wartime to truthfully inform society.

The NUJU congratulates all those honored with well-deserved awards and a holiday – Journalist’s Day!
