The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) attracted Italian partners from Anteas Alessandria to support the residents of Izium and the newsroom of the Obrii Iziumshchyny newspaper in the Kharkiv Region.

The national Italian humanitarian association, Anteas Alessandria, has launched a project to install windows in the damaged houses of the residents of Izium, according to the local newspaper.

The head of the association, Luciano Cartolano, led a group of volunteers during the visit to Izium. According to him, specialists have already provided the dimensions of more than 40 window frames that are planned to be replaced.

Eight families with children and elderly people live in one of the houses. Now, they have to look for another place to live because their house is destroyed.

According to Cartolano, this building has become a symbol of revival: the roof is being repaired at the expense of the UN, and the Ukrainian government has also promised to help.

The NUJU is assisting the project to restore the housing of Izium residents and the newsroom of the Obrii Iziumshchyny newspaper together with the help of partners.
