Kyiv police reports the suspicion to cleric for obstructing of journalistic activity

During the work of a production team in the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra, a representative of the clergy snatched the cameraman’s microphone and broke the mount on the camera. He was reported the suspicion, stated by the communication department of the Kyiv police.

Investigators of the territorial department, with the procedural approval of the district prosecutor’s office, report the suspicion to the 41-year-old man of committing a crime provided for in Part 1 of Art. 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – obstruction of the legitimate professional activity of journalists.

The sanction of the Article provides for a fine of up to fifty tax-free minimum incomes of citizens or arrest for a term of up to six months, or restriction of freedom for a term of up to three years. The pretrial investigation is ongoing.
