“The day of the visit turned out to be unusually quiet for Kherson. However, after Angelina Jolie’s departure, the russian occupiers resumed shelling the city”… The editor-in-chief of the Kherson publication, Kavun.City, Yevheniya Virlych, commented on the visit of actress and UN special envoy Angelina Jolie to Kherson, emphasizing its importance for international communication about the situation in the city.

Virlych drew attention to the information provocation of the russians, who began to spread messages about the “agreed itinerary” of the visit. The editor-in-chief also noted that some local residents perceived the visit negatively (“Why did she come to look at us like in a zoo?”). The journalist attributes this to the lack of proper communication from the authorities.

“I am very sad that both Kherson and the government communication in general have once again hit rock bottom and have not responded to such accusations from the russians. Because Kherson residents read this – it is important for them to know what their enemies are writing about them,” Virlych wrote on Facebook.

However, the journalist herself emphasizes the exceptional importance of such visits.

“Jolie’s visit is important for spreading the truth about us to the whole world. Having seen this horror with her own eyes, Jolie will tell the world about Kherson. She simply has incredible influence and popularity, thanks to which she will be able to overshadow the ‘good russians’,” the journalist explained.
