The Trust Conference, organized in London by The Thomson Reuters Foundation, brought together leading experts, journalists, and activists to discuss challenges to global democracy and the impact of artificial intelligence on the media space.

“The legendary Frontline Club will present the activities of Ukrainian frontline media, in particular, the first showing of our international documentary called On The Frontier. The Heroic Story of the Journalist from the Front-Line Newspaper,” said Sergiy Tomilenko, the President of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), who represents Ukraine at the conference.

He also added that he is currently meeting with British colleagues. He spoke about the activities of NUJU and the work of journalists during the war to the general secretary of the British National Union of Journalists, Michelle Stanistreet.

The Trust Conference became an important platform for Ukrainian journalists. Thus, the editor-in-chief of Ukrainian Pravda Sevgil Musayeva, emphasized in her speech that “we, all Ukrainians, still live in this day, we still live on February 24.” She drew the attention of the international audience to the topic of the release of journalists captured by russia, to the tragic fate of Viktoria Roshchina, who died in captivity, and to the constant physical danger for journalists.

This Trust Conference is a key global forum that brings together experts, journalists, innovators, and activists who are at the forefront of building free and just societies and trustworthy institutions. The conference explores the challenges to global democracy as AI becomes increasingly integrated into our digital landscape. The sessions look at how media professionals and newsrooms can ensure the core values of good journalism are preserved as they enter a new phase of radical digital transformation.

“The main goal of all meetings with our international colleagues is to keep the events in Ukraine in focus, not to put up with russian evil, to constantly support Ukrainian media people,” emphasized Sergiy Tomilenko.
