Ukraine has hosted the first military music festival called Surma. The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) was its media partner. Its participants were military personnel, singers, and different bands.

A surprise at the festival was the appearance on the stage of the vice-speaker of the Parliament of Estonia, Hanno Pevkur. He performed the song Brothers, Ukrainians dedicating it to our defenders.

The politician first sang in Ukrainian last May at a talent show in Estonia. The audience of the Surma festival gave the Estonian guest a standing ovation.

The organizer of the war music festival is the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War.

This is the first major artistic event that took place in the updated Motherland monument with a trident on the shield.
