As a result of the enemy attack on the Dnipro on the evening of May 5, 2026, the production facilities of Zoria publishing house were damaged by an explosion. The offices where the Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the NUJU and the newsrooms of several regional media outlets work, fortunately, were not damaged.
“After the first reports of a missile attack, we realized that it was again about the area of our offices. As soon as the security situation allowed, I came to check in the morning. Fortunately, our windows are intact, but the explosion damaged the publishing shops, – said the Board Chairperson of the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the NUJU, Oleksii Kovalchuk.
As earlier reported, late at night on November 15, 2025, this location was already damaged as a result of an attack by russian drones.
The other day, a delegation from the parliamentary interim investigative commission, led by Yevheniya Kravchuk, together with the head of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting, Oleh Nalyvaiko, visited the media center. They inspected the consequences of the previous attack on the space created for the work of journalists, in particular, relocated newsrooms and foreign correspondents.
The visit became an important part of the commission’s work to document the crimes of the russian federation against Ukrainian media and record the consequences of attacks directly on the ground.

The network of Journalists’ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, implemented in collaboration with the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO, and with the support of the People of Japan. Our primary goal is to assist media professionals working in Ukraine during the war. The Centers are active in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Lviv, and Ivano-Frankivsk. The project is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support the Safety of Journalists and Freedom of Expression in Ukraine.
