In the Kirovohrad Region, the Novoukrayinski Novyny newspaper has been published for almost three years thanks to the efforts of two media workers.
Olena Komisarenko, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, was not at a loss when, at the beginning of the war, her colleagues left the newsroom one by one. Each had their own reasons. Ms. Olena was left alone with the chief accountant, Iryna Hyntsar. Although it seemed to be a pain in the soul, the woman, having worked in journalism for more than twenty years, decided to fight for the newspaper, for the reader, and herself in the profession.
However, there are always certain challenges with Ukrposhta. The main problem, as, perhaps, with many other newspapermen, says Olena Komisarenko, there are cases of untimely delivery of newspapers. And this affects the subscription.
People appreciate our weekly for the importance of the information they find on its pages. The newspaper has taken on the mission of educating the population about fraud on the Internet, which has become more active in connection with the payments of various types of benefits. In almost every issue, the newspaper talks about the schemes of criminals, warns against gullibility and urges not to be “led” by tempting promises. And people take into account the warnings published by the newspaper. They even call the newspaper and ask how to properly apply for financial assistance so as not to fall for the hook of criminals. For older people, such consultations are of great importance.
According to Olena Komisarenko, topics about Ukrainian defenders and materials about the environment are widely received. Among the readers are many caring people. She hopes they will all stay with us next year so that together, we can change life in our community for the better.
She also expressed her sincere gratitude to the President of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Sergiy Tomilenko, and the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Union of Journalists, Petro Melnyk, for making sure that the newspaper team could work on both the newspaper and the Facebook page.
