“Your book is a dinner for the poor and homeless” – the employees of the Ivano-Frankivsk Journalists’ Solidarity Center of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) joined this initiative – coordinator Viktoriya Plakhta and assistant Bohdana Zasidko. The good deed was initiated by the Community of Sant’Egidio (Ivano-Frankivsk).

Viktoriya Plakhta and Bohdana Zasidko, like other participants of the charity event, brought books of various genres from their own libraries to pass them on to other lovers of reading. Next, the organizers plan to hold a book fair in Ivano-Frankivsk. With the collected funds, the Community of Sant’Egidio will organize charity dinners for lonely people and people experiencing homelessness.

“We have good cooperation with the Community of Sant’Egidio in Ivano-Frankivsk, whose work is coordinated by our colleague, Ivan Haruk, a member of the Community. Thanks to our partnership and the support of the Community, journalists from the front-line regions, in particular Chernihiv and the Kherson Regions, have repeatedly received humanitarian aid, for which we are sincerely grateful. The Ivano-Frankivsk JSC, for its part, joins the charity work of the Community of Sant’Egidio. We must unite and support each other because only together we are invincible!, – said Victoria Plakhta during a meeting with Ivan Haruk, coordinator of the Community of Sant’Egidio at the JSC.
