On the morning of March 26, Nikopol came under enemy artillery shelling twice; as a result, nine private houses, a gas pipeline, and power lines were damaged.

The house of Nikopol journalist and a member of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Viktor Artemenko, was also seriously damaged. He announced this on his Telegram channel called Good Evening, We Are From Nikopol!

“Today, a shell landed in our yard. Half of the roof is missing… The emergency services are working, the city’s utility companies are working… They are eliminating the consequences of shelling – they are putting a temporary covering on the house, cutting chipboard, covering up broken windows and doors,” Viktor Artemenko said.

According to him, the employees of the city housing and technical inspection arrived very quickly and brought the necessary materials with them. Unfortunately, there are many such calls from the people of Nikopol every day.

The Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center of the NUJU has already contacted Viktor Artemenko. A colleague will receive emergency financial assistance.

Call the Dnipro JSC at 050 919 8479 (Nataliya Nazarova, the Dnipro JSC coordinator). The Center’s address is 8 Starokozatska Street.
