Polish freelance journalist Sebastian Płocharski has been working in the Donetsk Region for a long time.
He received protective equipment for safe work at the Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
The independent documentarian and photographer cooperates with many Polish publications, including Newsweek Polska, oko.press, and Gazeta Wyborcza as a director. He prepared documentaries about the war for the BBC TV channel. His photo works can be seen on the website of the MakeCoffeeNotWar.info project.
“I’ve been covering the war in Ukraine for nine years. We did a story for New Zealand about British volunteers Christopher Parry and Andrew Bagshaw, who were killed in Soledar. We are currently filming a documentary about the evacuation and the situation of people living in the east of Ukraine – in Donbas,” said Sebastian Płocharski.
The Dnipro JSC of the NUJU lets media workers temporarily use high-quality protective equipment – bulletproof vests, helmets, and tactical first aid kits branded with the inscription PRESS. The rental is free, but it is necessary to have the accreditation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine!

The Journalists‘ Solidarity Centers is an initiative of the NUJU implemented with the support of the International and European Federations of Journalists and UNESCO.
