On October 28, the Help for Ukraine charitable organization, with the support of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), held a specialized training for journalists and volunteers of the Foundation on first aid for wounds and injuries both in the rear and in combat conditions. The training was conducted by certified specialists: surgeon Ihor Chornota and medical instructor Maksym Ivanov.

The theoretical and practical parts were integral: after listening to the detailed instructions, the attendees immediately consolidated their knowledge in practice. They had the opportunity to practice both on dummies and each other under the supervision of an instructor. The training covered the following issues: How to properly act in case of serious injuries, provide first aid, and determine whether a person is conscious? And how to properly apply a tourniquet and bandage, and what are they? How can you distinguish how much bleeding a wounded person has if blood is practically not visible on the clothes? Should any measures be taken in such a situation? In general, what should be in the first-aid kit always at hand, and are its contents safe for a person without special medical skills and knowledge?

After successfully completing the training, each of the journalists received two high-quality tourniquets: one for personal use and a training one. And in memory of the event – keyrings made of front sleeves with the emblem of the Foundation. All willing participants in the training will receive certificates. Journalists were also able to familiarize themselves with the activities of the Foundation and its achievements.
