While on a working trip to the Kryvyi Rih District, the board chairperson of the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), Oleksii Kovalchuk, visited the team of the Apostolivski Novyny newspaper, Viktoriya Mykhalchenko, and Oleksandra Kravchenko.
A year ago, the Russians shelled the territory of the Apostolove Community, as a result of which the residential buildings of the media women were damaged. Then, at the request of the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the NUJU supported colleagues financially.
“The money that my colleague and I received from the Journalists’ Solidarity Center at that time was used for the most urgent needs – we had to repair the damaged roof and replace the broken windows,” says Viktoriya Mykhalchenko. “By the way, the Union was the only one who helped! No one else. We had to do everything on our own.”
This time, the team of the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the NUJU and the Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center brought drinking water and food kits from the Ukrainian Food Banks Federation and the NUJU to the media representatives.
