Three women – born in 1976, 1978, and 1980 – and a man born in 1976 were killed, and 13 people were wounded in Orikhiv, Zaporizhzhia Region, on July 9. It happened as a result of a Russian aerial bomb hitting the school premises, where an invincibility point was located.

The enemy struck at lunchtime, at 1:20 p.m. when the townspeople came to eat and take humanitarian aid – food, basic necessities. Besides, that was the point from where the Trudova Slava newspaper was distributed.

“It was the largest and best invincibility point in Orikhiv. NUJU President Sergiy Tomilenko and I visited it on March 6 during a working trip to the Zaporizhzhia region,” Svitlana Karpenko, the editor-in-chief of the Trudova Slava newspaper, told NUJU. “The team of a volunteer from Mariupol, Mykhailo Puryshev, arranged the point. Here you could eat hot food, take a shower, wash your clothes, and receive humanitarian aid. Our newspaper was also distributed from the point. Everyone in Orikhiv knew there were no soldiers there. I think the Russians also knew about it.”
