In compliance with the earlier submitted applications, Ukrainian media staff and journalists continue to receive equipment from the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) in cooperation with foreign partners.

Editor-in-chief of the Nosivski Visti newspaper (Chernihiv Region), Kateryna Havrysh, received a laptop thanks to the close cooperation between the NUJU and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany in partnership with the Academy of Ukrainian Press.

The laptop was handed over to the journalist by NUJU President Sergiy Tomilenko during his working trip to the region.

“I hope technology will help create many worthy materials about Chernihiv Region and Ukraine’s path to victory! I am glad that thanks to our partners, we have the opportunity to support the print media,” said Sergiy Tomilenko.

A freelance journalist from Chernihiv Nataliya Naidiuk received a power bank.

“It [the power bank] comes in handy when you make reports, record stories, take photos, shoot videos for 6-7 hours in a row. It’s crucial when everything works at the most important moment,” says the journalist. “One of the challenges you have to solve yourself as a freelancer is equipment and transport. It is very important when the professional community provides respective support. A few months ago, Olha Cherniakova (executive secretary of the Chernihiv regional organization of the NUJU – ed.) asked me what I lacked for comfortable work. And before Easter, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine solved the energy freedom issue. Its President Sergiy Tomilenko came to Chernihiv to support his colleagues and present them with the necessary equipment.”

The power bank was provided by the NUJU partners, Fundacja Gazety Wyborczej, in cooperation with the Ukrainian Media Fund.
