This was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine, Matsuda Kuninori, at a meeting with the Journalists’ Solidarity Centers representatives and media representatives from the central and regional mass media held at the central office of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).
The people of Japan, notes the ambassador, understood from the first day of this war that what is happening in Ukraine can happen at any moment in East Asia, where Japan is located.
He added that the Japanese government and society continue to provide constant financial, humanitarian, and technical support and non-lethal weapons to Ukraine.
“I would like to add that for the first time in the history of our country; we opened our doors to such a large number of refugees and evacuees. And for the first time in history, Japan decided to provide military support, although not in the form of lethal weapons, Matsuda Kuninori said.
