Oleksii Pasiuha, the editor-in-chief of the Vorskla newspaper from Sumy Region, published a photo of a family home in Velyka Pysarivka destroyed by russian drones. The village was in an active combat zone 5 km from the border and is being methodically hit by enemy attacks.

Only a week after the event did the media person’s friends, taking advantage of a brief break after the drone attacks, manage to approach the yard and take a few photos.

“It is important to talk about the experience of the border area — not as statistics, but as real human destinies. Each destroyed home has its own story, and each family that has experienced a loss continues to live with it,” the journalist notes.

According to Oleksii Pasiuha, he moved his family out of the family house in the spring of 2024, when the demolition of cabins began in Velyka Pysarivka. At the same time, the newsroom of the Vorskla newspaper was relocated to Okhtyrka after several shelling of the office.

“Despite everything, life does not stop. We work, the newspaper is published, the roads to readers remain our daily reality. Because telling the truth about what is happening here is also part of the resistance,” says Oleksii Pasiuha.
