A former journalist from the Kyiv Region, ITV news agency, Oleksandra Stradetska, was injured in the Kherson Region, in the combat zone. The dugout where Oleksandra worked as an electronic warfare operator was attacked by an enemy FPV drone.

Oleksandra, who had a concussion, dug her comrade out of the rubble. Both managed to get out and reach the evacuation point, from where they were taken out of the combat zone.

“After the third landing, my head was thrown against the wall of the dugout. My comrade was under the rubble of equipment, earth… In a state of shock, I tried with all my might to pull him out. He screamed for me to leave him, because there were only up to 10 minutes between the landings. But we were lucky to get out just in this gap, and the enemy did not notice that we left the position,” ITV quotes Oleksandra’s message.

As a result of the concussion, Oleksandra has brain swelling, speech is inhibited, it is difficult for her to walk, the girl has poor hearing. Ahead is an operation to restore hearing, ITV editor-in-chief Liudmyla Lozova told the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) in a comment.

According to her, Oleksandra Stradetska worked as a journalist at the IA for five years. In February 2025, she joined the Defense Forces following the example of her father, who had been defending Ukraine from the start of a full-scale invasion.

“She constantly rushed to the front. She said that she could not be in the rear; she had to be there. For us, she is a heroine!”

The media team is constantly in touch with Oleksandra, supports her, and expresses gratitude for her courage and protection.

ITV is a regional news agency, reporting on the life of Irpin region and the Kyiv region. It was founded in 2015. It specializes mainly in creating video content. Since February 24, 2022, IA resources have regularly covered war events related to the heroic defense of Kyiv and the life of Irpin and neighboring communities after de-occupation.
