In order for real monetization in the digital environment to become closer, you need to start by studying and expanding the media audience. To do this, you should use any interaction to create a telephone database.

This was discussed during the webinar titled Feedback Without A Budget: Life Hacks For Increasing The Influence Of Newsrooms Through The Hands Of The Audience, which was held on January 15 for regional media by the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).

The recording of the webinar can be viewed on the NUJU Facebook page.

The speaker of the webinar, Vitalii Holubiev, the secretary of the NUJU, media expert, founder of the School of a Universal Journalist, and the all-Ukrainian competition “I am a Journalist!”, focused on practical tools that newsrooms can use without additional financial costs, using their own audience as an active partner in communication. It was about a deeper understanding of readers and viewers through the analysis of available personal data, which makes it possible to expand the “touch surface” between the media and the audience. The speaker paid special attention to the potential use of elementary artificial intelligence tools that help to save editorial resources in daily work with readers.

Vitalii Holubiev outlined the potential of social networks and groups as a space for active dialogue with the audience without technical complications, and also drew attention to offline formats of interaction that do not require the creation of additional content, but are able to significantly strengthen people’s trust and involvement in the media.

Read practical advice and examples from Vitalii Holubiev on the NUJU website later.

The webinar was organized within the framework of the NUJU priority area “Restoration of Ukrainian Media” with the support of the Ukrainian Media Fund Nordic. The initiative became part of the NUJU’s systematic work aimed at strengthening the economic sustainability of Ukrainian media during the war.

Conducting NUJU training events is an important component of supporting regional newsrooms working in difficult war conditions. It contributes to the search for sustainable models for the development of Ukrainian media.
