A russian missile strike damaged the newsroom of the multiplatform publication Obrii Iziumshchyny (Kharkiv Region).

“In the building where the publication rents two rooms for the newsroom, windows were broken, a suspended ceiling collapsed in the room, and the blast wave damaged the door. Our employee’s car was destroyed. But the editorial staff, fortunately, are alive,” the editor-in-chief of Obrii Iziumshchyny and NUJU Secretary, Kostiantyn Hryhorenko, told the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) information service.

Before the war, Obrii Iziumshchyny was one of the most successful local publications in Ukraine. The media is successfully updated, working both as a paper newspaper, as an Internet site, and as pages and channels on social networks. During the occupation of Izium, the russian military robbed and plundered the newsroom premises. Hence, the newspapermen had to rent a small office in an administrative building.

Today, February 4, at 11:34 a.m., russian military personnel hit the center of Izium with a ballistic missile. According to the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, the enemy hit the administrative building of the Izium City Council, which was partially destroyed. There is also damage to another administrative building nearby and broken windows in three residential apartment buildings, including a five-story building. There are fatalities. A day of mourning has been declared in the Izium Community.
