The American Committee to Protect Journalists demands that the russian authorities confirm the whereabouts of Ukrainian journalists Heorhii Levchenko and Anastasiya Hlukhovska and drop all charges against them.

“Journalists Heorhii Levchenko and Anastasiya Hlukhovska were kept incommunicado by the russian occupation forces for almost eight months simply because they are journalists,” comments Gulnoza Said, CPJ program coordinator in Europe and Central Asia. “The russian authorities should immediately release them, remove all charges from them, and stop the illegal persecution of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied territories.”

In its report, the CPJ (headquarters in New York) refers to the report of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) about the captured media workers in Melitopol and quotes Diana Hlukhovska, the sister of the journalist held by the occupiers.
