Suspilne Kherson has launched a new Telegram channel to continue to promptly inform residents of the Kherson Region about events in the city and region. The team lost access to the previous Telegram channel on December 20, the television and radio company reported.
“Suspilne in Kherson lost its Telegram channel, which they had been working on for about six years. It was in demand in the region and had the largest number of subscribers among local media. Those who follow us on social networks know that our correspondents work directly in the city and also travel to communities in the region. We are trying to show as widely as possible how Kherson residents live in the frontline region,” said Tamila Ivanova, head of the Suspilne Kherson digital group.
To find out the reasons for the loss of access to the Telegram channel, Suspilne has contacted the cyber police. The circumstances are being investigated.
The new platform was created for continuous communication with the audience and rapid information in wartime conditions. After all, according to the results of the News Trust Barometer study of news consumption and trust, 65% of Ukrainians receive information via messengers, and 94% of users use Telegram every week.
“We are currently launching a new Telegram channel and invite all residents of the Kherson Region, wherever you are, to join it. Tell your family and friends about our new Telegram channel and share the link to it so that they too can receive up-to-date and verified information from Suspilne. In turn, we promise, as always, to promptly respond to all events taking place in the region and Kherson, and to provide balanced and unbiased information,” adds Tamila Ivanova.
Suspilne works on all platforms according to journalistic standards. Information is carefully checked, and materials are presented without emotional pressure or manipulation.
