Students of the Ostroh Academy who visited the Lviv Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) and the office of the regional organization of the Union in Lviv, had an opportunity to learn how the NUJU its JSCs work, when these structures came into being and what their main tasks are.

This follows from a statement by the coordinator of the JSC Nataliya Voitovych.

Meeting participants also discussed the journalist’s work during the war and the peculiarities of presenting information. Another topic of the meeting was russian propaganda the aggressor country is trying to spread abroad and in the territory of our state, and how to recognize false information and counteract russian narratives.

“Many journalists have already been killed in the ongoing war. The enemy destroys the media because it sees them as a huge threat. After all, it is journalists who bring true information to society. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, many journalists have been killed and injured. We must be aware of the times we live in and be responsible for the performance of our professional duties,” Nataliya Voitovych said.

The Academy students were also told about how to become a member of the Union and the benefits of being its member.

Call the Lviv JSC at 097 907 9702 (Nataliya Voitovych, the Lviv JSC coordinator). The Center’s address is 5 Solomiyi Krushelnytskoyi Street.
