Colonel Serhii Cherevatyi has been appointed the head of the Department of Military Journalism of the Military Institute of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

Serhii Cherevatyi is a candidate in political sciences. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, he organized the Information Headquarters in Kyiv with the assistance of the Ground Forces Command of Ukraine. Its purpose was to unite society to fight against the invaders. Therefore, for almost two years, he served under the direct leadership of the current Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and then the Commander of the operational-strategic group Khortytsia Oleksandr Syrskyi: he was his deputy for strategic communications. Since January 2024, Serhii Cherevatyi has been a member of the secretariat of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU).

Colonel Cherevatyi noted that his main task in his new position is to generalize the experience gained during the war. Together with other officers of the information struggle, he worked in the military information field first during the Kyiv operation, later on the Eastern Front during the Kharkiv counteroffensive, the Battle of Bakhmut, and other campaigns. Serhii Cherevatyi is personally acquainted with many officers and has studied the strengths and weaknesses of their training. So now, relying also on more than 30 years of experience in military journalism, he plans to implement his knowledge and skills in new educational programs.

Colonel Cherevatyi says that he plans to involve the experience of experts and representatives of the governing bodies of the NUJU.

Leading citizen journalists who go on a business trip to the Bakhmut Axis note the openness and high efficiency of the press services of the units within the operational-strategic group Khortytsia, which were supervised by Serhii Cherevatyi.

The NUJU congratulates Serhii Cherevatyi on his appointment and looks forward to fruitful cooperation in the field of journalism.
