Overnight into January 7, Dnipro was under another massive attack. The enemy was hitting the city with drones. A series of explosions thundered over residential areas. As a result of the strikes, residential buildings, dormitories, educational institutions, administrative buildings, infrastructure facilities, and cars were damaged. Besides, a gas pipeline was damaged. According to official information, eight people were injured, two of them children.
In one of the damaged apartment buildings, the famous Dnipro photojournalist Volodymyr Riazanov lives. All the windows in his apartment were shattered by the blast wave.
After the attack stopped, they could not recover for a long time. In a state of severe stress, they cleaned up the things that fell, covered the window frames with bedspreads, and illuminated themselves with flashlights.
Fortunately, the couple was not physically injured, but the shelling had serious health consequences.
Volodymyr Riazanov is a well-known photojournalist in Dnipro. Leading regional media and information sites (Nashe Misto, Gorod.dp.ua) use his photos in their materials.
The Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) and the Board of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Journalist Organization will petition the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) for financial assistance for a colleague whose home was damaged as a result of an enemy attack.
