On the eve of International Volunteer Day, three journalists-members of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) from the Vasylkiv Community, Dnipropetrovsk Region, received a special sign of national honor – the Cross of Civic Merit.

At the request of the NUJU, Serhiy Khoroshylov, Liliya, and Ivan Danyliuks were awarded by the All-Ukrainian Association Krayina. Vasylkiv Village Head Serhii Pavlichenko handed them the awards in a solemn atmosphere.

“The power of the word is of serious importance. It is you who, with your fruitful work, are bringing our victory closer without weapons in your hands. Let this be a new beginning for further achievements and joy for our community!” Serhii Pavlichenko noted.

“Several colleagues of ours, who are media men and women from the Dnipropetrovsk Region, have already been awarded with the Crosses of Civic Merit. They were handed over to the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine,” noted Oleksii Kovalchuk, the head of the board of the Dnipropetrovsk regional organization of the NUJU. “On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, the award was given to courageous editors of publications working in the front-line territories. They work in conditions of danger, financial hardship, and often – difficulties with the delivery of their publications to readers. At the same time, they actively volunteer, collect funds for the Armed Forces, donate blood… Our media colleagues deserve all-Ukrainian recognition.”

As earlier reported, the NUJU’s Dnipro Journalists’ Solidarity Center (JSC) provides journalists with organizational, technical, and consulting assistance and conducts various activities, training sessions, and professional meetings. Journalists can come here to work and also take advantage of the free rental of high-quality protective equipment for work in hot spots.

Call the Dnipro JSC at 050 919 8479 (Nataliya Nazarova, the Dnipro JSC coordinator). The Center’s address is 8 Starokozatska Street.
