Today, November 8, the Ukrainian newsroom of the independent website, The Geopost, which covers social and political processes in the Western Balkans, became operational. Liudmyla Makei, a journalist and one of the participants of the project, informed about this.

Since April 2022, the journalist has been living and working in Pristina under the Journalists-in-Residence Kosovo professional protection program, and also covers the experience of Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina in the rehabilitation of people who suffered from sexual violence during the military conflicts in the Western Balkans.

“I am grateful to chief executive producer Gynen Venhari for the opportunity to join this important project and I am glad that I can work for Ukraine and Kosovo together with my colleague Tetiana Kraselnykova,” Liudmyla Makei said. “I also sincerely thank media lawyer Flutura Kusari, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo and the Journalists-in-Residence Kosovo project for Ukrainian journalists.”

The first issue of the Ukrainian language The Geopost is already available to readers and, in particular, tells about the exhibition of portraits of captured media workers, which was recently presented by the NUJU in Strasbourg.
