The National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU) has handed over the flag of unity to Belarusian colleagues – independent professional journalists persecuted by the Lukashenko regime.

The President of the NUJU, Sergiy Tomilenko, met in Kyiv with Borys Goretsky, deputy head of the Belarusian Association of Journalists (BAJ). Now, the Belarusian colleagues will receive the first NUJU flag, which was made the other day, to be unfurled during important events.

“This flag is a symbol of our unity and joint struggle for freedom of speech. It reminds us of our and your freedom! Now our colleagues from BAJ and the Lithuanian Union of Journalists will be able to unfurl the flag during events of solidarity with Ukraine,” emphasizes Sergiy Tomilenko.

Synergy at the international level is very important, says Borys Goretsky: “We work together for the journalists of our countries. Because we have one enemy that is destroying our countries, our societies, and our media.”
